Panicum Shenandoah is considered the best of all switch grasses and is the grass of choice attracting birds and butterflies. It has narrow and compact steely blue green foliage in spring which turns to red by early summer and in the fall explodes with finely textured violet, burgundy and purple. This grass turns beige in the fall and will live into the winter.  Panicum Shenandoah is drought and wet soil tolerant and deer resistant. Performs best in fill/partial sun with average to medium wet - well drained soils.
