Grows in a dense upright clump up to 8 feet tall. Known as majestic Chinese Silver Grass. Airy red plumes during summer months, transforming into shiny silvery-white in the fall. Variegated foliage of green leaves with a white midrib which change to red, orange, and purple shades during the fall.  Grosse Fontaine add interest to any lawn during the winter as well.
