The Golden Chain trees have yellow pea-like, cascading densely packed flowers blooming in late spring. Fruit pods will develop but are extremely poisonous, do not eat leaves, flowers, seeds, bark, or wood. This tree prefers well-drained moist soil – it will tolerate dry conditions for short periods of time. Water the tree if you notice the soil is dry during summer months letting it be absorbed by the roots. Use a high acid content fertilizer when the tree is young. Trim the diseased withered leaves once a month, it prefers full sun, partial shade.
