In the fall, the leaves become a beautiful coppery-bronze color and the bark becomes silvery in the winter. Tri-color Beech is relatively low maintenance but requires rich soil, significant moisture – it will not tolerate standing water and room to spread. Pruning should happen after the extreme winter cold has passed. Deer do not find this tree to be appetizing and usually will walk on by. The tree is also dought tolerant and has no negative characteristics.
