The Crimson Tide Azalea is a deciduous shrub that grows upright with relatively low maintenance. It prefers well drained, highly acidic, and organic soil in full sun to partial shade. This azalea will die in standing water and must have rich acidic soil for its best performance. This beautiful shrub has multi-stemmed clusters of lightly scented crimson trumpet shaped flowers in mid spring turning dark red. The foliage is green in the spring turning a yellow color in the fall.
