Calendulaceum Azalea 'Flame Azalea'

Zone: 5 to 8
Height: 4 – 8 ft. tall
Spread: 8 – 10 ft.
Type: Deciduous Shrub
Flower Color: Fiery red orange nectar rich

The Calendulaceum (Flame Azalea) is best grown in acidic, well-drained rich, sandy soil in part shade. This Azalea will not tolerate clay soil and needs to be protected from the afternoon sun. If left in hot areas, the leaves may get scorched. It is best to plant in an area that is protected from strong winds. Excellent soil drainage is essential to avoid root rot. This Azalea can be used for borders, mixed beds as a hedge, and gardens. The thin gray-brown bark also adds a showy winter interest to gardens. Adding to a pollinator garden will attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
